These sweet alcoholic drinks are fruity, creamy, boozy, and everything in between! From classic to modern, these cocktails fit any occasion. Let’s get into it…

The Bebbo

The Bebbo is a funny-named London dry gin drink that’s very tangy thanks partly to the presence of blood orange juice. The honey syrup’s sweetness gives this cocktail a great sweet & sour kick that isn’t really delivered in many other cocktails. Perfect for enjoying alone or with some friends.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 ounces London dry gin
  • 1 ounce honey syrup (equal parts honey and water)
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce fresh blood orange juice
  • Garnish: lemon or lime twist

How to make it:

Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds.

  1. Fine-strain into a chilled coupe.
  2. Garnish with a lemon twist.

The Gin Fizz

A bubbly cocktail, the Gin Fizz is a bar classic. The creaminess is feeling great on the lips and taste on the tongue. Just a little heads up though, to get this frothy-ness, you’re going to have to do a lot of shaking. Probably best to skip the gym today…

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz Gin – Try Hendrick’s Gin
  • ¾ oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz Simple syrup
  • 1 egg white (½ oz)
  • 1 oz Club Soda

How to make it:

Now it’s time to make the Gin Fizz Cocktail. We highly encourage a cocktail shaker but a blender will also suffice (make sure to not include the ice in the blender, however, because it will dilute your drink. These directions will assume you already are a badass at-home cocktail maker and have gone out to get the shaker.

  1. Fill your shaker with Gin, Lemon Juice, Syrup and the Egg White. Do not include any ice.
  2. Dry shake your concoction (dry shake meaning no ice) for at least 10 seconds
  3. Now add ice to the mixture and keep shaking for at least 30 seconds or as much as you can.
  4. Strain your mixture into your glass. We recommend chilling your glass prior beginning for a better Fizz experience.
  5. Top off you’re your drink with 1 oz of club soda.

The Mexican Mule

The Mexican Mule Alcohol Drinks

Just like with every great invention, there’s a just as great variation of it somewhere else. The case stands for the relationship between the original Moscow Mule and the newer Mexican Mule. Although no one really knows the origination of the Mexican Mule, whoever tries it can’t get enough of it.

  2. Straight into the good stuff. In another cup, pour 2oz/60ml (or a double shot) of vodka into your cup. (If you like it stronger, we won’t say anything). Next, pour in ¾ oz  of pineapple juice, ½ oz of lime juice, and ½ of syrup. Now stir.
  3. Put the lime in the —.We like our Mules with a little tang. Squeeze two lime wedges into the drink. Stir again!
  4. Ahhhhhh. Finally pour this beautiful mix into your chilled cup and enjoy. Hopefully it’s a hot day wherever you’re having this, but if not you’ll still love it.

The Moscow Mule

The Moscow Mule

What do you get when you mix a vodka executive, a LA bartender who bought way too much ginger beer and the girlfriend of the who owned a company that made copper products? Yes. Exactly. The classic Moscow Mule.

Originally using Moscow-born Smirnoff, Martin (the executive) was selling Smirnoff when he stumbled upon a bartender (Morgan) who had too much ginger beer, Moscow Mules can be made with all different kinds of vodka that have different flavors. The Painkiller

Dubbed the Painkiller, this drink does just that but not through the numbing effects of alcohol but through it’s delicious taste. The Painkiller resembles the Pina Colada in taste; however, it packs a much stronger punch due to it having rum in one serving. The presence of more rum also creates a smoother texture to the drink than its more sweet counterpart.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 ½ oz Rum – Try Bacardi Superior Rum
  • 1 oz Cream of coconut
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 2 ½ oz pineapple juice

  4. You may choose to garnish the glass with a pineapple wedge to snack on as you enjoy your drink.

The Salty Dog

The Salty Dog Alcohol Drinks

The Salty Dog originated as a means for sailors to take their vitamins in a more “fun” way. As vodka became more popular in the U.S., the influence of the sailors spread including their favorite drink: the Salty Dog. Very simple to make and packing a punch, the drink involves a perfect balance of vodka and fresh grapefruit juice at a 1:2 ratio, respectively.

What you’ll need:

How to make it:

  1. Salt your glass, preferably a Mason jar/Collins glass, around it’s rim. Don’t be afraid to be generous with it.
  2. Fill up your shaker with ice.
  3. Add your Vodka, and Fresh Grapefruit Juice into your shaker.
  4. Keep shaking your drink until the drink is chilled (usually about 10 seconds).
  5. Pour out your drink into your cup with the same ice.
  6. You may even garnish your glass with a lime wheel or a wedge from the grapefruit you squeezed the juice from.
  7. Enjoy!

The White Russian

The White Russian Alcohol Drinks

Ever heard of “The Dude”? You know… the Dude from the Big Lebowski. Well, this is his favorite drink, and in respect to the legend we’re doing a How-To on it. The drink has been around much longer than The Dude, called the White Russian, but is often seen as odd due to adding cream to the vodka — sadly dairy and alcohol aren’t featured too much in cold cocktails, although they taste delicious. Aesthetically, the White Russian looks beautiful with its black and white contrast stemming from the black Kahlua and white cream. It basically looks like an adult version of an ice blended with a splash of milk.

What you’ll need:

How to make it:

The White Russian is an extremely easy drink to make, requiring no shaker or extra mixer glass.

  1. First fill up your glass with ice, preferably an Old-Fashioned glass or even a rocks glass. Anything short.
  2. Next add your Vodka and Kahlua.
  3. Top off your drink with a good splash of heavy cream. The more cream, the more it masks the alcohol taste, but you still want to feel hints of the Vodka/Kahlua mix.
  4. Soak in the beauty of the drink and then stir to bring the drink to its final stage.

  1. Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup into a Collins glass.
  2. Fill with ice, top with club soda and stir.
  3. Feeling yourself, stay at home bartender? Garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherry.

Turf Club

Turf Club Alcohol Drinks

Welcome to the club. This cocktail is a close cousin of the Martini, but it has Gin! Yes. Gin. With Gin becoming the hottest trend in mixology, we thought it be best we show you how to create a bitter, yet remarkably smooth, Turf Club — the only club you won’t have to care about the ratio (guys know what I’m talking about)

What you’ll need:

How to make it:

  1. Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir until cold (for about 30 seconds).
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.
  3. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Vieux Carré

Vieux Carré Alcohol Drinks

The origination of the Vieux Carré can be traced back to the Carousel Bar in New Orleans. Side Note: why does everything good come out of New Orleans? Like have you even heard NOLA jazz? Back to topic. The Vieux Carré is a stronger drink, containing rye whiskey and cognac, and is sure to get your money’s worth.

What you’ll need:

The Vieux Carré is a more complex drink to make but the result of is amazing.

How to make it:

  1. Pour all your ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Continue to stir (not shake) your drink until it is sufficiently chilled to your liking.
  3. Strain your drink into your rocks glass, make sure that you’re leaving the ice in the mixing glass behind and that you’re pouring the new drink on fresh ice.

Whiskey Smash

Whiskey Smash Alcohol Drinks

Here at SK, we have a pretty strong preference for whiskey. It seems to go well with everything, and that notion holds true when it comes to the whiskey smash. The version where the lemon wedges was introduced could be dated back to the Rainbow Room in New York where Dale DeGroff altered the cocktail and gave it a perfect balance of mint & citrus.

What you’ll need:

How to make it:

  1. Before you add any ice. muddle the lemon into your shaker.
  2. Next add your whiskey, mint leaves and syrup. Finally fill the shaker with ice and shake.
  3. Strain your drink into your rocks glass, make sure that you’re leaving the ice in the mixing glass behind and that you’re pouring the new drink on fresh ice. Usually one large ice cube will suffice.
  4. You may then garnish your glass with mint.

Whiskey Sour

Whiskey Sour Alcohol Drinks

The Whiskey Sour is of the older cocktail recipes. The cocktail recipe was originally seen in Jerry Thomas’ book, The Bartender’s Guide, in 1862. The history behind the conception of the drink; however, actually originates a century before that, when sailors and those looking for a new life in the new America’s would fix alcohol and their scurvy-fighting rations (think limes/lemons) as a more fun way to get their nutrients.  Once these sailors and immigrants would finally land (sometimes the trek being longer than a year) they would continue to drink their favorite way of getting their daily dose of vitamins.

What you’ll need:

The Whiskey Sour doesn’t need too many ingredients however a shaker is definitely encouraged. The short ingredients list:

  • Bourbon
  • Lemon Juice (the fresher the better)
  • Simple Syrup
  • Egg White  (if you’re feelin’ like a real sailor)

How to make it:

Now it’s times to make a Whiskey Sour. We highly encourage a cocktail shaker but a blender will also suffice. These directions will assume you already are a badass at-home cocktail maker and have gone out to get the shaker.

  1. Get it ready. Put 2oz of Bourbon, ¾ oz of fresh lemon juice, ¾ oz of simple syrup (the kind you’d put on your waffle) and, if you’re up for it, ½ of an egg white (it’s still really good without it) in the shaker. Make sure to NOT put ice, yet.
  2. Shake it. Shake the ingredients in the shaker (without ice) until everything is completely mixed. Next add ice and shake again until the drink is chilled.
  3. Leave the ice. Strain the drink into a coupe or whiskey glass. Make sure you only pour the liquid, leaving the ice in shaker in order to avoid cocktail dilution.
  4. Enjoy! We like to slowly sip a Whiskey SourMake sure to really enjoy the tang of the drink. Don’t rush cause now you know how easy it is to make, you can always make more!
